The Camp
The private camp is beside a beautiful stream and small woods and can accommodate up to 5 to 6 persons at any one time. Three caravans are in position in the camp set about 10 metres apart.
'Large' Romany adults caravan
The first of these is a delightful genuine Romany Gypsy caravan believed to be from the 1950s having originated in the New Forest. This is a bow top caravan painted deep red and maroon decorated in the traditional Romany style with a new canvas outer roof. The front steps give access to the lovely wooden barrel interior. Inside there is a comfortable four foot double bed. On either side there are benches with small cupboards near the entrance.
'Little' Romany childs caravan
The second caravan is a delightful miniature bow top gipsy caravan for children to sleep in. It can sleep one or two children up to the age of 10. It is painted in the Romany style and is furnished with a child’s sized double bed.
'Hardy's' Shepherds hut
The third caravan is a genuine early 1900s shepherd’s hut which will accommodate two more adults or teenagers in the two single beds. This hut can also be used as a sheltered day room on those rare rainy days as can the 'Hunters Lodge' safari style mess tent which has a woodburning stove.
