Wild Devon Camping is set on a stunning 15th century working farm in the wonderfully scenic Teign valley within The Dartmoor National Park, this is a unique opportunity to live in beautifully restored caravans set in a Gypsy camp surrounded by nature.
The area is full of wildlife; Badgers and foxes may often be seen near camp. You have exclusive use of the private site to live close to nature in the peace and quiet. The site is only occupied by one group at a time and is for your exclusively private use, it is not overlooked and enjoys beautiful seclusion being several hundred yards away from the farmhouse and other neighbouring properties.
The camping site is set within our 30 acre working farm. Most of the farm is grassland but we also have 3 acres of traditional cider orchards which provide the fruit for making our cider. This is made in the early part of November after the apples have fully matured and acquired the sweetness and sugar content needed to make quality cider. Anyone booking the site in this period can join us in gathering apples and taking them to our 16th century cider barn for crushing and pressing in the ancient wind down cider press using the traditional process of pressing the apples in barley straw “cheeses”. On the farm we run a small herd of Pedigree Dexter cows, a handful of sheep, 2 horses and our free range chickens. Meat, eggs and garden produce can be purchased when available
